On December 12 local time, a supply contract of 26 light rail vehicles was signed by CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd and Monterrey Metro Administration in Monterrey, Mexico’s third largest city. This marks that China-made high-end rail transit products will serve Mexico for the first time. The contracted vehicles, with a maximum speed of 80 km/h, will come into service in Monterrey light rail Line 1, 2, and 3. The first vehicle is scheduled to be delivered in 2021.
