Young entrepreneurs and students from more than ten countries and regions, including China, Kenya, Benin and Ethiopia, attended the forum online and offline. They discussed cooperation and development for a better future. Six China-Africa cooperation projects including Hunan-Africa barter trade cooperation were signed on site, involving trade with Africa, procurement of raw materials, exclusive sales and financing services.
Mayor Zheng Jianxin noted that in recent years, Changsha has kept placing innovation and entrepreneurship in a prominent position, vigorously implemented the innovation-driven development strategy, and comprehensively promoted the construction of a strong city in science and technology. The city’s capacity for independent innovation is growing, sci-tech innovation platforms are improving, and the ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship is becoming more mature. Its innovation capacity is at the national forefront.
He hoped that the forum will serve as a bridge of communication and a bond of cooperation, lead young Chinese and African friends to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship, and deepen China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
Guided by the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy, Changsha will focus on building itself into a highland or hub of sci-tech innovation with core competitiveness, cultivate high-level innovation platforms, gather innovative talents from home and abroad, and strive to become a national sci-tech innovation center with important influence.
In accordance with the requirements of “increasing ties with enterprises and enhancing their senses of satisfaction and belonging”, Changsha will establish a new type of government-business relationship featuring full support, swift actions, and meticulous care, and create a first-class business environment. It will also build an innovation community for scientists and entrepreneurs, and open up new channels, bring new contents, and inject new vitality into China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
